Fishing at Payson Lake...

We had it on good authority that the fishing at Payson Lake this time of year was phenomenal...like you just cast  in your rod and get bit after bite. We had no such luck, but we did enjoy spending time together in the outdoors. On our way home, we stopped at Rawley's Red Barn for ice cream, and it wasn't quite as good as the one in St. George, but we still liked it a lot!

Snowbird Trx Family Trip...

Things at Snowbird were a little different with covid going on. We had to wear masks everywhere on the property, even outside for the activities. We hiked up to Cecret Lake, from Albion Basin to enjoy the beautiful wildflowers.

We enjoyed the hot tub and pool and night, especially since it was so chilly for July!

We celebrated the July birthday girls with a Chocolate Mousse cake!

We got the Birdy activity pass at Snowbird so we could do the Alpine coaster, gondola rides, the trampoline, ect.

Saturday  night we pampered ourselves with yogurt and honey masks and doing our nails. Of course, we laughed like crazy and also had some good talks!

On Sunday, we stared hiking to Red Pine lake, and got almost all the way there but the rain was relentless so we turned back. It was so cold and muddy too! We ended up down the road at Hugh's Canyon, and it was dry, hot and sunny!

I love my workout family so much!

Cecret Lake!

Another beautiful Sunday hike in the mountains! We got to see lots of salamanders in Cecret Lake this year, and James and Jackson continued to climb up in the mountains beyond the lake. I found myself a nice comfy rock to sit and take in the view above the lake and loved the serenity!

St. George Dance comp 2020...

Alanna only got to complete twice this summer, and luckily once in St. George. We watched the girls perform in the auditorium, rows spaced out, wearing masks. There was definitely a subdued feeling, but I was so grateful that the girls were able to perform after working so hard all winter on their dances. She did a great job, but she wasn't willing to let me get pictures of all of her costumes.

Alanna's 12th birthday...

When Alanna woke up, I gave her a package with all kinds of make up in it. She was visibly disappointed, and I was disappointed at her reaction. I loved getting my own make up when I turned 12! We went to Sand Hallow, which was gorgeous with the red sand beach and warm clear water. We surprised the kids and rented a wave runner for half the day. We all had fun taking turns riding around on the choppy water, but Paul was the only one adventurous to love riding with crazy James! Blaze and Paul got burnt like bacon, despite our efforts to get them to keep slathering on the sunblock. We had a special dinner and cake, and then I sent Alanna on a scavenger hunt around the house to find her new iPhone, that also came with service. That's all she really wanted, and she immediately got it all set up with service and contacts so she could text friends and family members! It was fun to see her so excited, and I think she did enjoy celebrating in St. George after all!

St. George day 3:

James's morning meeting ran late, so we ended up starting our hike to Scout's Cave at around 11am. Too hot! It was a lot cooler once we got inside the cave, and It was worth the trek. Paul did a great job hiking without his boot, but he paid for it the next day when his ankle was swollen! James tried jumping off of a 4 foot wall, but he fell and scraped up his hip and leg really badly. We made it all better by stopping at Rawley's for huge portions of ice cream, and then James insisted on getting the kids soda too! I'm sure it was a sugar overload, but it helped them get through a 100 plus degree day!
