Luke and Caleb were so excited to graduate last week. We enjoyed a festive day of celebrations, and I just kept thinking about how I can't believe it was 13 years ago that I was in their shoes!!! So crazy! I loved my graduation from BYU, and it was extra special because they were awarding Marjorie Pay Hinckley with an emeritus doctorate degree that year. That meant that she and President Hinckley spoke at our graduation. Anyway, we always tell our kids that the "U" campus is that oil cracking refinery in North Salt Lake in order to persuade them that BYU is the place to go. I guess they learned the truth by attending the graduations...the "U" is really a beautiful campus :)
I am so proud of my Luke for completing school while working and having two babies in the mean time. He said he is the happiest he's ever been and feels so blessed to have as much as he does. He graduated in graphic arts, and will continue working for the University Alumni Association. They asked him to design a graduation pin this year, so Paul got a hold of one and proudly wears it on a daily basis!
Luke and Andrea live in the student apartments, and there is a huge courtyard that our kids absolutely love. The weather was perfect, and we all enjoyed a delicious post-graduation lunch outdoors. Andrea's family was there to support Luke, of course, and they are so much fun. When it was Luke's turn to "walk", they were very vocally excited! It was very entertaining to see heads turn since we were in the very back of the auditorium.

On to Caleb's graduation! I'm so proud of Caleb for making it through the Mechanical Engineering program. It was very rigorous, and he changed his major after being well into business classes. He's been very blessed to get a job with Autoliv close by. Lauren has been hard at work teaching school while Caleb was finishing up, and now she gets to stay at home with this little bundle of joy!
Love these guys!!! So glad they are easy to pick out in a crowd too!
We ended the day at our friend's new restaurant, Smokin' Bones up in Bountiful. If you like barbecue, you would love the food there. I really enjoyed the sides of baked beans, corn bread, and coleslaw (since I'm not a big meat eater). James, however, had his fill of meat for the year! Our friend, Kile Kearns, master b-bque-er, really took care of us!
