Lombaunderson Camping Trip 2018...

This year our annual Lombardi, Saunders, Williamson camping trip was at Heber Valley girls camp where we slept in cabins and had the use of electric kitchen appliances! We ate well, paddled in the lake, and completed a couple of ropes courses. 

The hiking trails were gorgeous, and we were so proud of our kids for making the climb up the mountain to enjoy the beautiful over look. 

Everyone in our family completed the ropes course, and I will admit, I was a little nervous. We climbed up a telephone pole to walk a tight rope (grabbing on to hanging ropes), and then perched on a small landing to get secured into a zipline. The scariest part for me was taking off on the zip line. I hated standing there on the tiny perch as they reconnected my harness to take off. We all survived though and rewarded ourselves with shakes from Granny's. They were delicious!

Grandma Ce-Ce's Birthday...

Celebrating Grandma Ce=Ce's 66th birthday with a dinner from Café Rio and yummy treats! The kids made a mess with the sidewalk chalk. I don't know if the backyard smores mess or the sidewalk chalk is worse.

Hill Airforce Air Show 2018...

It was super hot, and super loud, and once is probably enough for me! I remember coming here as a kid, about 7 years old, and being completely miserable. Not much has changed. But the kids enjoyed seeing the planes flying over head and getting to tour the insides. 

Celebrating Father's Day 2018...

Caleb and Lauren invited us to Willard Bay for a barbeque and riding their wave runners to celebrate Father's Day. The water was so warm, and we had so much fun paddle boarding, kayaking, speeding through the water, and eating. 

Charlie is absolutely hilarious! He's only 2, but he talks like an adult a lot of the time.

Cache and Blaze love each other

Alanna watches after Presley like she's a mother. Or a very good big sister. It's so fun to see her little mothering instinct, and Presley loves the attention!

Summer days and summer nights don't ever last long enough. We are so blessed to be able to live close to family and play with them often. 

Suspension Bridge Hike...

We did a pretty good job of taking the kids out to enjoy nature this summer. They grumble when we start, and then they end up loving the adventures we have hiking. This suspension bridge is really cool, and the kids (and James) had fun stomping on it trying to get it to move. 

At the beginning of the trail there are some concrete stairs surrounded by bushes leading up to the trail head. As I began walking up the steps, and snake flew out in front of me. And yes, I mean flew! It was at least 3 feet in the air. It was startling, but snakes aren't my kryptonite. If it had been a rat, I would have been crippled and not done that hike!

Horse Tail Falls...

Michelle and I had so many hiking adventures this summer! We went out every week that we were both in town and made a tradition of taking "ugly selfies". How does anyone ever take a good selfie! We need lessons! My face is always distorted. But, they make good memories! This hike to Horse Tail falls was pretty much thorough dirty, rocky, barren horse property. It was really exposed and so hot, but the waterfall at the end was worth the journey. I'm amazed something like this exists in our part of Utah!

Day #6: L.A. and Vegas!

This was our first trip to the Griffith Observatory in L.A. I've been wanting to see it in person after seeing it in so many movies and heard celebs talking about how they love to hike there at the park. 

I fell asleep during the scientists presentation of how a comet is formed, but I think it was mostly due to being so hot. Maybe. 

It's easy to forget how much of a desert L.A. is when we are just usually there for the beach or the pristine grounds of Disneyland. 

And here is where we took the hike that will go down as "the worst" in history! It was a trail to see the Hollywood sign, and it wasn't long, but it was hot and dusty and barren! And we didn't get very close to the sign at all. But I can cross it off of my list and be grateful for all of the amazing hikes we did in UT over the summer!

We were very pleased to walk into a Cheesecake Factory on a Friday evening and be seated right away! That would never happen in Utah! It was located at a very new looking fancy outdoor mall where they had one of the dinosaurs from Jurassic Park on display.

Many display windows were decorated in rainbow colors for Pride week. Very beautiful! Reminded me of Skittles!
