Genius Projects...

The boys had an assignment called the "Genius Project" to finish out the school year. They had to make something from scratch (I never fully understood what this was about, even after attending the class presentations!). Jackson made his own guitar, and Paul and his buddy Logan made a baseball. They did Power Point presentations also to document the steps of their project. It's crazy to think how much these kids use the computer compared to how little I used it at their age. It's a great thing!

We're on top of the world...

Well,,,we made it to the top of Herriman anyway! It's kind of the thing to do...you can't be a true fan of Herriman until you've done the flag hike! James went with his 11 year old scouts a few years ago, and we finally felt like Blaze and Alanna could make it up this year. We went of the trail, but I'm not sure if there is a trail going directly to the flag. It was a bit unnerving scrambling at the end there and feeling like one of the kids might fall down and take me out sending us rolling down the mountain! It was an accomplishment we were all very proud of, especially for Blaze! He couldn't wait to tell Oscar that he touched the flag before he did!

Paul's 10th Birthday!

Happy 10th birthday to the spice of our family who is always making us laugh and keeping us on our toes! He was surprised when he opened his door this morning and balloons and a Death Star beach ball flooded his room! Paul had school today, but after school he had a special birthday dinner of dutch oven lasagna, rolls, Costco salad (as my kids have named it), and a Smore's Ice cream Cake! Poppy and Great Gran came by and gave him a chocolate donut that was larger than his head! Instead of a friend party this year, he opted to take money and pick out a Kindle and case. He's been emailing more than ever and taking funny pictures with his much awaited electronic device!

Cutie Patooties!

Blaze and Shirley have been good friends pretty much their whole lives. Oscar and Blaze love to play with her because she just fits in with their games, or they are happy to have her organize a game of house or pets. One day during carpool, Blaze gave Shirley one of his stickers. She exclaimed "Blaze, you are my best friend!" And then I saw her lean over and whisper "And I am going to marry you!"

Paul's Undefeated Soccer Team...

Paul enjoyed an awesome soccer season on an undefeated team this Spring! He scored several goals and had many assists. This was after their last game where we had a little party where everyone brought a snack to share, and the boys made off with all kinds of donunts, chips, and candy!

Diaper Cake...

We had to celebrate one of our favorite neighbors with a diaper cake for his 40th! Paul and Lane has had this joke about diapers going on since Lane was his Primary teacher many years ago. A diaper will randomly show up with Christmas treats or my church bag, and we know they are from Lane! He's a fun guy, and a good sport :)

Q-Bits...

Jackson is still having fun making creations, even after 4 years! This is an awesome toy!

This Doll...

Presley is our real life baby doll. The kids think she is the best baby in the world and want to play with her as much as possible. And she is a good sport while they dress her and put crazy mullet wigs on her! She really is the happiest baby I've ever been around, and very well loved!
