Michelle got a Groupon to try cross country skiing when her mom was visiting, but they didn't get a chance to use it, so I got to go! In true Sarah and Michelle fashion, we went to the wrong location! We drove to Soldier Hallow instead of Jeremy Ranch, ugh! But we finally made it to the right place, got fitted with skiis, and were assured that we were going on a very simple beginners course. We were kind of thinking "how hard can this be after downhill skiing!". It's completely different! The course started out with a very small hill that we immediently started tumbling down, and while we were both on lying in the snow, I said " And you were going to take your mom to do this, Michelle?".
At least we were having fun laughing at ourselves!! The skis weigh maybe 3lbs each, have no edges, and are super skinny! There's no way to "make a pizza" down the hills! I'm still curious as to how one is supposed to gracefully navigate declines! I was so sweaty by the time we finished the course though, so at least it was a fun workout!
