Memorial Day!

The kids wanted to spend the day at Thanksgiving Point, and we started at one of their favorite places...the goats!! They love to feed the goats and watch them misbehave!  I have to admit, the goats are my favorite there too! I love their personalities!

Of course we went to the Curiosity Museum and were able to enjoy the outdoor zip line and play ground before heading to dinner at the cafe. Alanna can't resist using her monkey skills on anything that can be climbed. The boys try to keep up with her...but they aren't as strong! She works so hard in her tumbling and dance classes to increase her strength and I love to see it!

Miss Presley is here!

 

Presley Rae Perkins was born on May 28, 2015! That's the day after Paul's birthday! We were all very excited to see her and cuddle her! Our friend made her this cute little bracelet that looked so tiny, and then we put it on Presley and it looked huge on her teeny tiny wrist!

Of course, Alanna couldn't hold Presley enough. She was the size of Alanna's doll babies.

Paul's 9th Birthday...

Paul had a special enchilada dinner with Brazilian Lemonade and Brazilian cheese rolls to go with it! Grandma Ce Ce and Poppy knew he would be so excited to have this Hogwarts shirt, especially right before our vacation to Harry Potter World!

Paul was also awarded his Wolf badge for Cub Scouts days before his birthday

Since our kids never get cereal... this was the perfect birthday breakfast for Paul! He was nice enough to share with his siblings too!

At his school they have a cool tradition of having the birthday make a rotation around the "sun" for each year of their life while reading a memory from that year. He loved all the attention, and afterward each classmate said something nice about Paul. Many said they thought Paul was a good friend to them!

Paul had been begging to make a Key Lime Pie, so I thought he might like a Key Lime Cheesecake for his birthday. It was delicious!

D. A. R. E.

The fifth graders at Jackson's school has the opportunity to go through the D.A.R.E. program with a South Jordan Police Officer. The program strives to teach kids to stay way from drugs, not give in to peer pressure, and no bullying. For the graduation, each child was assigned to write and essay about what they learned in the program, and Jackson's essay was one of two chosen from his class to be read at graduation. It was fun watching him give a speech in front of several classes of fifth graders and parents!  They also sang the D.A.R.E. song which will be stuck in my head for many months to come! I couldn't resist taking a picture of the D.A.R.E. corvette...since it's my dream car!

Mother's Day 2015!

I regret not taking pictures of my many handmade Mother's Day gifts!! Paul and Alanna made butterfly necklaces at school (which I proudly wore to church!), Jackson decorated a pin and put together a collection of sea shells, and Blaze made a cute card. In addition, they all spent Sunday morning in the craft supplies making all sorts of creations for me!! Later on, we went up to Layton to celebrate with extended family. I made this Snicker doodle cake with a caramel pecan filling for dessert because my mom loves pecans! James made us dinner, and it was an overall relaxing fun day. My kids are my greatest blessing! Some days I do wonder why i ever thought that I could handle all 4 of them, and I wonder what kinds of scars they will grow up with! They will have crazy stories about healthy Pinterest dinners gone wrong that they had to eat anyway, the dorky Sun Skin hats I make them wear with flaps all around to keep the sun out, and my hatred for video games and electronics and the very limited use they get out of them! But I promise I am trying and doing my best!

Drenched Real Game...

The Tafts's gave us their 4 tickets for the Real game so that we could all go as a family. Just as we made it through the ticket line, it started dumping water and lightning! We eventually made our way the stadium stairs, but we stood around for 1 hour waiting for the game to begin! They will play in rain, but not in lightning, of course. It was the most empty I've seen the stadium. Not everyone chose to "tough it out" like we did :(-  If it were up to me, I would have left the game quite a bit earlier, but James just had to stay to the very end. I was freezing and thoroughly bored with the game because nothing was going on. Blaze kept asking when someone was going to score a goal, and why were people cheering when no one scored a goal! Jackson and Paul loved the "adventure" though, so I'm glad that it wasn't a completely miserable experience!

Bees Game!!

We got to attend a Bees game for Cinco de Mayo! The kids all got a free hot dog, soda, and Rice Krispie treat, so that right there ensured a good time! Lauren, Cache, and Caleb also joined us, and Cache was comepletly fixated on THE Bee mascot. It was so cute to see how excited he got! I don't  love baseball, but it was a fun game and I feel like it's our duty to expose our kids to American culture. It started raining towards the end of the game, but of course, James wouldn't budge! Jackson and Paul went right down to the seats but the field, and after the game, a player threw a baseball at Jackson for him to keep! Score! And we finally tracked down the Bee to get a picture with him...Blaze wasn't too exited about being around the Bee though!
