Great Gran's 87th Birthday!!!

The cake melted a bit during the trip north. I was trying to copy an idea from Pinterest. Strawberry Whoppers are just heavenly!

I can't believe Gran is 87!! She doesn't look or act it! I remember growing up my friends would see her and couldn't believe that she was my Grandma, they thought she was my aunt or some other relative visiting. We haven't ever been around her to celebrate her birthday, so this was a momentous occasion! Gran said it was her best birthday ever :)

Blazer's birthday is right around the corner, so Grandma Ce-Ce and Poppy bought a little cake and some presents for him. He was so surprised and loved opening his gifts, and eating his cake of course!

My mom pulled James to another room and asked him to have Blaze open this remote control RAT and drive it through the room to scare everyone. I think it was mostly meant for me, but Cache is the one who was absolutely horrified! The poor little guy was shaking and screaming, but he couldn't take his eyes off of this disgustingness and enjoyed it from afar. This even runs over your feet and I can imagine that's what a real rodent feels like!

Jackson worked on this robot, "Phyllis", all week long. I love how creative he is!

And Paul made a cute card too.

Cousin Sleepover!

James, Caleb, and Luke went on a backpacking trip to King's Peak this past weekend, so the rest of us got together to party! We made pizzas and ate snow cones and popcorn! Peter found out that he really does like golden melon, and so does Max :)

You'd never guess what Peter and Blaze chose to watch for movie night....episode after episode of none other than Curious George! It was so cute how they all piled on my bed and snuggled in together.

The next day we went to the Museum of Natural Curiosity at Thanksgiving Point.

Standing in a tornado gets you a little bit wet

So they had to go and be dried off in 60 mile an hour winds!

What a playground for them all...water could go everywhere and it was ok!

We really enjoyed being here on a day that wasn't crowded so the kids could make their creations without them being destroyed. Every other time we have come it's been very crowded!

Paul couldn't resist dressing up for the Kidopolis stage to do a silly dance for us.

Bubbles are always a favorite too!

Surprisingly, being on a see saw opposite 40 lbs is quite a thigh work out...ask Andrea!

Max did not want to leave the see saws! He finally found his favorite. We explored the bear caves which were dark and damp and very very loud with all of our little bears. It was so much fun to spend time with Aunts and cousins! And the guys had an excellent adventure hiking King's Peak too!

"Milking" a cow! The kids were shocked to find out that you can milk these cute goats and drink the milk too!

Paul had a special connection with this goat. The goat was getting up above the fence and Paul would hug him. He ended up bringing some of his own money to buy food for the goats.

Blaze laughed like he was being tickled...because he was when the goats licked the food off of his little hands! I got a really cute video of Blaze squealing with delight while feeding the goats.

Of course, riding the ponies was one of the highlights of the day!

And a wagon ride! It wouldn't be a complete trip to Thanksgiving Point without ice cream and a stroll through the beautiful gardens as well. What a lovely day!
