Halloween 2016!

The kids wanted to hand out cupcakes again this year, and they were a hit! Jackson and Paul went trick-or-treating with Kasen. I took Alanna and Blaze out for a bit. I think each kid had 5 lbs. of candy!

Perkins Halloween Party!

The Grease Gang + a Power Ranger!

More Power Rangers!

The two Blind Mice...the third one (Great Gran) was home sick!

A Jedi, Ahsoka, Captain Rex, Yoda, and a Storm Trooper!

They were out to get me with their Light Sabers!

Jill sent us fun decorations again!

The kids had fun with their pie eating contest. Paul won!

Donut contest...no winners here! They all cheated and gave up!

Luke was the biggest piggy out of the adult pie contest!

Miss Presley helped herself to James's unattended cinnamon roll. I think she was pretty proud of herself, and we all reinforced her cleverness by laughing hysterically!

Pumpkin carving fun! And Jackson really CARVED a face into his pumpkin. Thanks to Luke for passing on some of his awesome skills to Jackson!

And this little girl walked and walked and walked...finally!

Pumpkin Patch...

10th year at this awesome little pumpkin patch that even Paul and Jackson haven't outgrown! I mean...do boys ever outgrow tractors!

Escaping the Zombie...

We did a really fun Escape Room with this great bunch of friends! It's the most fun I've had out of the 4 rooms we've done because the Zombie's chain was released every 5 min and he was trying to "get us" so we were frozen on the wall and couldn't help our team. But we escaped anyway! And I wish that our "photographer" had centered the picture more so we could see that Zombie! He was a great actor!

Date Night...

We went to Happy Sumo with the Saunders and the food was so pretty and delicious that  I had to take a picture! I got a tuna poke salad, and James and I shared the Mango Mamma roll. It's like dessert. Afterwards, we went to see Final Cut, at BYU. I had been a few times when  I was a student and loved it. The film students enter a contest with their commercials or short films, and the audience gets to vote on them. I don't know if this event is one that I just remember loving because experiences from  college always seem so nostalgic, or maybe the films weren't so good this year. But we had fun laughing at a couple, and the rest were sleep worthy! It's so interesting as James and  try to recreate experiences from college, like favorite activities or restaurants, they never live up to our memory of them!

Our Garden 2016...

We decided to get a garden plot at the Herriman city garden since we haven't ever had any luck growing plants in our own backyard. Since we are novices, we shared with the Lombardi's. And I'm so glad that we could split the work between two families, because watering twice and day and weeding is pretty high maintenance! By mid season we had lost more than half of our 14 tomato plants, but that's ok because we took over Krist's garden an she had plenty. The ironic thing is her garden picked up a bunch of "volunteer" tomato plants that thrived while our well tended ones died. Oh well...better luck next year! We have enjoyed a bountiful harvest of yellow squash, zucchini, jalapenos, green peppers, basil, green beans, tomatillos, and mint!

Blaze Humor...

We were at Walmart headed to see the fish tanks (a must for our frequent trips there), and walked through the pet section. Blaze started laughing as though he was being tickled when he saw this doggie Halloween costume! He thought it was so funny that a dog could wear a "HOT DOG" costume. He said "Mommy, do you get it!?" Later on I showed James the picture, and he didn't get it. I explained, and then he laughed. Sometimes Jimmers, really!
